oh happy da-ay!

What a great morning. At 6am when my body decided it had slept enough I argued, at 6:30 I gave in and got up. I'm glad I did, I had time to read my Bible, have a longer shower, make breakfast, type up something for class, read a chapter in a book and enjoy a morning coffee. I'm going to make lunch and then I'm off to school.

This joy is probably a subconscious by-product of my devotional this morning. It was about joy and being joyful in the mundane, ordinary life too-because you're living at it for God. I'm usually pretty joyful, I don't think I know anyone else who gets excited about filing or typing up a report for a boss. I just love that God has given me a joy for mundane things, so that the natural joy that comes with exciting and rejuvenating things is just another blessing.

Habakkuk 3:18 "yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior"

John 15:11 "I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete"

Proverbs 8:30 "Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence"

My favourite song as a little girl was This Is The Day That The Lord Has Made...let us rejoice and be glad in it!

I pray this entry can be a source of encouragement to you, as it was for me just as I reread it and got excited once more about the joy God has blessed me with!! :)

  2. Hee, hee, I'm usually happy with mundane tasks. I joke that it takes little to keep simple minds happy :)
