Joy & Hope of Haiti Fundraiser

Late Wednesday, about 10 minutes to the end of the day, one of the partners came to my desk and offered me free tickets to the 15th annual Joy and Hope of Haiti Fundraiser here in Hamilton. I agreed, then asked when it was. "Tomorrow" was the answer I got. Oh! I guess my Thursday night plans changed.

I came home and made a few phone calls and on Thursday night after work, headed to Carmen's to meet 4 of my dearest friends for (a FREE!) dinner in support of Haiti. Maeghan and I have both been to Haiti within the last year so it's dear to both of our hearts and especially very fresh in our minds.

Meg and I ended up walking out with nearly $600 spent (don't know what the actual value of the items were) in silent auction items, wow! Thanks to KL, Meg was able to buy a bunch more stuff (he donated, via text, to her) and I got some great things - including a gift certificate for eyeglasses which I plan on redeeming tomorrow (my eyes are crying for reprieve after staring at a computer for SO long! ...in fact I'm typing with my eyes closed at the moment, just so they can have a break)

We had a really great night, but I got home rather late and am really sleepy tonight.

I'd be in bed, except that it's Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final of the Stanley Cup playoffs and I want to see who will be playing Vancouver (heck yes they made it!) in the finals.

I think I'll grab something warm and curl up with a warm blanket...night!

  2. Guess who?? LOL
I love your "bucket list"! -- you're way more adventureous than I am - but I had to say, I bought a Unicycle at a garage sale a long time ago and then re-sold it. Sure wish I'd kept it! The kids would have had fun with it and you could have used it! :)
