I don't know why I feel the need to be online all the time, perhaps it's because it's a great way to avoid life?

I have a lot of stuff I want to do, but it's as if I'm scared to get started, for fear of what might follow. ?? That seems so weird. For instance, I have Christmas cards to make and send. Thank you notes to send (like, for my birthday...in October SIGH!), wrap up loose ends for the Stop the Traffik Fondue Party we had last Friday, finally send out our letter & cheque to IJM, from JUNE, y'know that kind of stuff. I just can't get motivated. It's ridiculous.

Any methods for getting yourself motivated??

  1. The only surefire method of motivation I have ever found for myself is a deadline. Give me syllabus at the beginning of the semester and I'm still not starting that paper until the night before (two nights for a long one). But that's just me.

  2. It's called procrastination and it's not a great habit. You'll just have to give yourself a kick in the butt, get the writing stuff out and start. You'll be glad you did.
