I was waiting for a bus back up the mountain this evening after shopping at Goodness Me! on Locke St. (GREAT store) and it was snowing quite heavily. I must have
just missed my bus because they come every 1/2 hour, and I'm pretty sure I was waiting for about 25 minutes. Anyways, so as I'm waiting I look up into the sky and feel the snowflakes as they fall on my face and a big smile quickly spread across my face. I figured I must look pretty odd, I've just been singing worship songs and now I've thrown my head back, standing a foot OUTside of the bus shelter and having my face soaked with snowflakes.
It made me wish I was in the country, without all the city lights and traffic around, to just watch the snow fall.
It was a pretty cool time of worship.
Shovelling snow and icy streets are a pain. But a nice soft snowfall with big flakes makes it all worth it. Best day of my high school life was walking to school (because I missed the bus) and the snow was coming down nice and gently, covering the world in a quiet white blanket. I still think of it often more than ten years later...
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of my childhood winters, sledding and fun in the snow; and the Christmases in Switzerland.
ReplyDeleteLeise rieselt der Schnee,
still und star liegt der See...
Day dreams of the past.
Nature is awe inspiring!
