Twenty-Five

A milestone! I made it. Every birthday I chuckle about the time I was a little girl laying in bed trying to figure out the concept of age and thought that in the year 2000 I would be 17, and that's just WAAAY too old, there's no way I'd live to be that old. Well, I've beaten that by 8 years now :P I love kids' logic.

Today is a day to celebrate my birthday and it makes me think of my parents. They chose to have another child, not knowing what life had in store but knowing they wanted to try for a little girl, Well, exactly one week late at exactly 1 pm, Mami gave birth to a baby who weighed exactly 8 lbs. They should've known then that this little girl might be a little obsessive-compulsive.

Over the last 25 years I've had amazing support in everything I've done, school, ballet, swimming, rugby (less from Mami who did the laundry, more from Papi :P who didn't), college(s), travelling and my varying dreams from teacher to charity-work. Thanks Mami and Papi for your support.

25 years. As Darrell put it, this is the last year for the coveted demographic of marketers, it's all to go downhill from here :P I don't think he really believes that though ;)

Cool events in 1983:

Internet is officially born (out of ARPANET)
The A-Team debuts
Challenger makes it maiden voyage to space
Michael Jackson's, Beat It, hits number 1 on Billboard
New land speed record is made:  633.468 mph by Richard Noble
Martin Luther King Jr. Day was established

and on my birthday...
Japan's ex-PM Tanaka Kakuei is found guilty of accepting a $2 million bribe
great... I'm glad there was some interesting news to share my day with.
