here I am, again

Hello out there in blogger-land!

I promised I'd be back with a more cheerful blog, and so here I am.

I've been busy proofreading a devotional for our pastor. He'd like it finished by tomorrow, and I'm currently on page 14/90. So I'm about 15% of the way there? Goodie! Luckily for me, my first class this morning only lasted 45 minutes (instead of 2 hours), tack that on to the 90 minute break between classes, I've had a lot of time to work on it. I've been working on it for about an hour and a half. My eyes hurt now. I'm not too sure when I'll get the rest done, but I'm not going to worry about it.

Last night we had our AGM at church and it went by really smoothly. We had two items on the agenda (aside from normal business meetings) to discuss: approving the budget and accepting the slate of officers for the Vision Team (in essence, an Elder's Board). Our meeting still lasted really long, but that's because we're a church that likes to talk. It was good, now I'm tired.

Tonight I'm having a couple people over for dinner, Matt & Debbie. Debbie will be staying with me this weekend while her parents are on holidays. It's a good thing she's involved with the youth because I'm pretty sure she'd get bored at my house otherwise. Tonight she's going to senior high, tomorrow they're doing a hike, and Sunday we have church. I'll still see a lot of her which is good, she's like a little sister to me. :)

I think I'm going to go eat my lunch now. Part of me hates being so disciplined, I'm not buying any food on campus because it's too expensive; so I'm stuck with less appealing food for my lunch. Who knows, my resolve may wear thin by the time I get down to the cafeteria and pull out my apple and alphabits. :)

Before I leave, just so everyone who actually watches the news and has heard about all the storms, don't worry they have not affected us. Well, other than destroying my hair so that it looks like I walked through a tornado by the time I get to my first class. Otherwise, I'm alive, safe, and warm. :)

Love you all,
Niki
