back in BC!!

Sorry for the lack of updates, my computer broke last Saturday and I didn't have time until today (now Wednesday...but I'm still operating on Tuesday time) to sit down and write.

Life's been busy. Friday night I went to the HD concert that Deb was playing in. It was a great concert, both her and Helen (and all the other students I don't know) did a great job, lots of talent at that school. Karen & Cam were there too, so we sat with them and I got to talk to Karen afterwards about some boy stuff, get things sorted out. I'm content, she needed to know that. Life is good.

Saturday: My computer crashed in the morning (with the address, directions & phone number of the Christmas party that night), which really sucks. I went to work, only 4 1/2 hours, but was there really long because of the poor bus scheduling (and then my bus didn't show at the end of my shift-cold 40 minute wait outside). I was glad I got to work early though because it was the staff turkey appreciation dinner, mmm! Free full turkey dinner with all the trimmings and free drinks all day. I think I still have a diet coke that I took home with me-but its still in Hamilton. A fridge full of condiments and a diet coke, bliss. Later that night I went to a friends house for a Christmas party-I did end up finding it even without the address or directions, because I vaguely remembered it and her roommate was standing outside and asked if I was Niki. What a great welcoming committee! That was fun, lost an earring though :(

Sunday. Shannon came home! (well technically she came home Saturday, but as I didn't see her, this can fall in the "sunday" category). A group of us went out for lunch (Montana's, where else?) and I spent time with some I haven't seen or talked to in a while. Then Dave dropped me off at home, Laura came over, we scrapbooked and did other crafty things for a little, had dinner, did some of the puzzle, enjoyed each others company. :) Then we went to the Alt, I counted money for the last time this year...it's almost 2007, WEIRD! Then, Laura, the boys and I went to BP's where Alex met up with us later. Busy day.

In all of this I lost my laundry too! I did at R&L's on Saturday, and was going to pick it up from the boys apartment on Sunday, but we never connected. I needed it desperately on Monday, so Laura just went into their place (sorry boys!, I tried calling), I retrieved my laundry, rushed home and finished packing. Then I went to work, said my goodbyes (my boss was wonderfully pleasant) and after picking my bags up at home I was off to the LeaKer's.

Monday night: At the LeaKer's, sorted out everything (making sure I get picked up and stuff), tried to go to sleep around 11:30pm. Between 11:30 and 3:55am when I woke up and got up, I was awake at least every 20 minutes staring at the clock. so I got up 24 hours ago, after hardly sleeping to go to the airport. We were on our way to the airport when I realized (thankfully stilll very close to home) that I forgot my itinerary with my confirmation number, so we had to go back. Unfortunately we were already going down the escarpment, so we had to go all the way down to the bottom, turn around come back up, get the papers, and go back down AGAIN. Good thing we left really early. I finished reading one of my books while waiting to board, and started another (Living Above the Level of Mediocrity, Chuck Swindoll). I didn't sleep much on the plane, and I landed in Abbotsford an undetermined amount of hours later.

Oh guess what guys? No snow. I told you so!!! I showed up, and it was raining. So do you have snow in Ontario yet? I tell you, when I'm around, there's no snow to be found! My dad picked me up (he was very happy to see me), we found our way back to MR, picked my mom up on our way home and I hung out with her all day. My brother came by to visit and his reaction to me answering the door was awesome. I opened the door and he looked at me and "wow" was all that came out. He couldn't believe how much I'd grown up, very cool. My family says I'm looking good-which is a much better welcome than the "wow, they sure fed you well, didn't they" I got at Christmas break while at CBC. (granted I'd gained a lot of weight...but still not something you want to hear). So, good times.

Tonight I went to my second high school concert in 5 days. I was once again very impressed by the talent, and this time I knew one of the stars! Sean, who is Rob's little brother, (not so little anymore) had quite a few solos and even arranged a couple of the pieces, as well as being Charlie Brown in one of the choir's songs. He's quite the rising star over there at THSS. I'm proud of the kid, good stuff Sean! Great show. Ran into a bunch of people whose names I don't remember, that's always embarassing. Crumbs Bakery did the catering, mmm. They've sure stepped up the quality of the THSS dessert concerts from when I was there. However some of the songs will never stop, I had to resist the urge to sing along because i knew the harmony lines-it was the same rendition of Jingle Bells from when I went there. Really enjoyed it! After, Chantelle, Rob and I went out for McD's and a chat. Had a really good and lengthy discussion with Rob about all sorts of stuff in my driveway, like the good ol' times...so many talks have been had in that driveway so we didn't keep my parents up at night.

Now it's 1am and I need to go to bed...I've slept about 3 hours (maybe 4) in the last...I don't know, I've lost count.

Love Niki

Anyways, you have to go to Bronwyns for dinner on the 24th. I'm so busy from when i get off work on the 22nd, to when I head back to Burnaby late on the 26th. I do have most mornings free, at least so far though.
