Back to school! Or, a fresh start

So, since I'm not headed back to school (and haven't for a few years), I decided I still needed something to get excited about, or at least something to work towards.

My goal? Tackle that nasty Item 7.9 on my bucket list - lose 40 lbs. Well, after my first work-out endeavour in far too long, I can't say I'm excited, but it's at least something to work towards, and work it will be. I forgot how much WORK it is to work-out. Go figure.

I've got a little book tracking my stats, with my morning weigh-in, my exercise and calories burned. Today I burned 165 calories on the elliptical. Pretty decent, but the rest of me feels far less than decent.

Fresh start? Sure...although at this point I think learning some advanced chemistry might be easier for my (VERY) humanities-oriented brain than losing these 40 lbs.

  1. Good for you, Niki! It's a process to lose weight, but it's so rewarding. My goal is 100 pounds, and the goal gets closer each week, but it's important to stay realistic in what you normally eat. Protein shakes and water are good, but if you don't continue with them later, the weight won't go away. Trust me - been there, SO done that! I hope it goes well. I'm rooting for you! :)
