Songs on my mind

I've had a few songs on my mind lately...they may appear to be conflicting, but there are elements of truth in each. I'm highlighting the parts that I sing the loudest when I sing along in my car...

Wait for Me – Rebecca St. James

Darling did you know that I
I dream about you
Waiting for the look in your eyes
When we meet for the first time
Darling did you know that I
I pray about you
Praying that you will hold on
And keep your loving eyes only for me

Darling did you know I dream about life together
Knowing it will be forever
I'll be yours and you'll be mine
And darling when I say
Till death do us part
I'll mean it with all of my heart
Now and always faithful to you

Now I know you may have made mistakes
But there's forgiveness and a second chance
So wait for me
Darling wait for me
Wait for me

One Good Man – Michelle Wright

I can't believe all the times I've told myself
This one is finally the one
Only to find out too late
He is already gone
I can't believe all the good ones are taken
Oh god my heart it just keep on breakin'

Wanted one good man
All the love I have to give to be the reason that I did
Wanted just one chance
To find a happy ending with..
One good man

I've known the kind that could glitter like diamonds
And shatter your heart just like glass
Someone who'd rob from your future to pay for their past
I've known the kind who would keep a girl dreamin'
While all the time they were thinkin' of leavin'

Wanted one good man
All the love I have to give to be the reason that I did
Wanted just one chance
To find a happy ending with..
One good man

I don't think a love that could last forever
Could be too much to ask
What's wrong with that?
Send me somebody to stand up for love and me

One Day Closer to You – Carolyn Dawn Johnson

My married friends keep asking me
When I'll settle down
They tell me time is passing
And there's not to many good ones still around
I tell them I am not afraid to be alone
And there's no need to rush into something wrong

So I'm not gonna worry
No I'm in no hurry
It's in the hands of fate
There's nothing I can do
And it might be tomorrow
Or the one that follows
Got the rest of my life to look forward to
Cause everyday is one day closer to you

You might be in Montana
Living in the hills
Or you might be in Virginia
Workin' in a mill
All I know is that I haven't found you yet
But who knows maybe we've already met

Everyday I pray that God will keep you safe
Cause I know your out there somewhere

So I'm not gonna worry
No I'm in no hurry
It's in the hands of fate
There's nothing I can do
And it might be tomorrow
Or the one that follows
Got the rest of my life to look forward to
Cause everyday is one day closer
Yeah everyday is one day closer
Everyday is one day closer to you

  1. Hugs, Niki... just reading your blog and catching up on things - it's been a little while.. and you've posted a bunch of things since i last looked. I was glad to learn a bit more about your job - it's very complex and involved, isn't it? And i'm also glad to see a little part of your heart and I will pray that the Lord's plan for your life will be made clear to you... looking forward to dinner next week!

  2. ((( hugs ))) from me too! If it's God's will, HE'S out there for you and you'll meet him! Did you hear that Rebecca St. James got married (not sure when, just read an article about her recently). I love her songs!
