pulling an all-nighter?!

Hey, why am I pulling an all-nighter, I'm not in college anymore! Well, it's because I'm working nights tomorrow night and if I sleep tonight, I won't be able to sleep during the day and then I'll be up ALL day and night tomorrow and, that's brutal. Did that last weekend on my night shift (well, I had 2 hours sleep, hardly made a difference though). Anyways, so I've got lots to keep me busy, I've finished my baking and now I have to divide it up into gifts so I can give it to friends. I've also got to make some more Christmas cards (I'm stitching some of them) and then write in them and address them and send them...you get the picture. I might also watch a movie, although that might make me fall asleep :( And today I finished buying the last of my Christmas presents (I hope!), these for my friend Erin (& some chocolate for her family, who I'm spending Christmas with). Erin, Maeghan & LA (M & LA are my roommates) and I are doing a stocking/gift exchange on Thursday, and so I just have to finish wrapping the presents and then I'm all set. There is so much work to do for Christmas!
So since moving here and getting settled I've earned a new nickname, Martha Stewart. I guess because I enjoy doing 'domestic' kinds of things. I do a lot of the cooking and cleaning, all the baking, I stitch my own cards and I'm usually smiling when I do it, so I guess I'm like her? Except for the whole scandal-jail thing. Anyways, thats fun. The guys in the group are always asking if I'll move in, and then I gently remind them that they already have it good, they all (except for 2, I think) either still live at home with their mommies or are married. Funny boys! ;) I seriously enjoy spoiling my friends though!
Oh!! I went outdoor ice skating for the first time on Saturday, that was fun! Not as much fun as I had anticipated, mostly because I was a little sick, it was freezing cold and there was only four of us (and it kind of felt like a double date...argh). But other than that, it was awesome! Until I fell that is. We were playing hockey (yes, I realize there was only 4 of us...), I was in goal and I slipped and fell really hard, first on my butt, then hit my upper back and then my head. I was laughing too hard to really notice the pain and when I woke up Sunday I was fine, so I thought I didn't do any damage. However, I woke up Monday morning and could hardly move, I had a hard time lifting my left arm to wash my hair in the shower! It's still pretty sore and aches when I do something as simple as yawn, so I'm being very careful. I just hope it goes away soon.
Well, I guess I should go do some of those things I said I was going to do before I fall asleep. Oh wow, it's not even 1 in the morning yet, I don't know how I plan on staying up all night! We'll see how well I do.
Have a great day everyone and feel free to leave me a message, don't be shy now :) I love hearing from people and know that someone's actually reading this! Speaking of blogs, Bronwyn, go update yours already!! And mom, yours isn't working, I don't know if you've tried to post anything yet, but it says there isn't a blog with the address you gave on the server, you may need to ask Papi for help-my first blog on blogspot didn't work either. Anyways, love you all lots and I pray you can be an encouragement to someone today!! Blessings, Niki :)

  1. Sorry, you fell so hard on the ice. Could it be the ribs? If yes, then you need patience. Anyway, all the best and have a beautiful X-mas time.

  2. hope you're feeling less pain! I know how you feel when you work nights. What hours do you work, is the store open 24 hrs.? I know my blog doesn't work, the password is not getting accepted, I just needed a blog acct. to write a comment on Bronwyn's blog, I don't really want a blog. It seems a lot of people have a blog called 'mumstheword', so I can't use that with the password I chose. I know lots of people read your blog, even if they don't write anything. Cleaning, baking ... when are you moving back home???

  3. This is Jenissa I'm under anon because I'm too lazy to actually figure this out. I'm glad you are doing so well and I know how it feels to do the bad hours. Once I had a 6-noon right after a 6-mid-night...it was fun oh so fun. Once you get use to it sleep is unnecessary...in small doses of sleeplessness. This is what I've figured out.

  4. Hope you are enjoying the snow back east, we are back to the goold ol' rain. In fact it's warmed up too much for the local ski slopes, and they are starting to get a bit of rain. Have a merry christmas, and make sure you read my blog, I've been trying to update it every week, well, at least this month
